Just a thought, don't forget to use thermal paste between your CPU and your heat sink when putting your new cooler on. I forgot once and had the CPU constantly overheating.

Well that was easy!
New cooler arrived today, installed and up and running again
Temps all good!
No other damage had occurred. It was just the CPU throttling back and going into 'please dont fry me' self preservation mode
It came with a new backplate and thermal paste, and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to remove old one and fit the V2, plus new fans on Rad.
Also has a Corsair Link cable plugged in now, and even has 2 handy fan plug headers for the new fans.

Congratulations
Now we just have to worry about those new security vulnerability fixes that are supposed to take a big hit on our processor performance.

Nope, you shouldn't be seeing any hit, all reports point to the only ones being affected are server types. As a home use you will be hit with updates for just about everything (all software/hardware, PC, to Phones all brands and makes) but shouldn't otherwise notice a difference.JJB17463rdBombGroup wrote:Congratulations
