steering problem across P3Dv4 planes

Post by rod55 »

Hi A2A Crew
I've posted this here, rather than plane specific sections, because it applies to both Comanche and T6. These two P3D (v4, 'Professional' edition) planes wont steer on the ground. So I'm stuck. But completely optimistic of resolution, because of A2A's excellence! In the immediate, I'm right now going to: uninstall the A2A planes from the PC; again get the A2A Accusim 10.12.17 from A2A site and then reinstall planes. And, fingers crossed, see what happens.
I posted this because chances are that I am not alone in this! (???)

Are you using P3D v4.0 or P3D v 4.1?

The patch must only be applied if you are issuing v4.1.

Many thanks for your instant reply! I believe I have got P3D v4.1 (not v4..0). Though I will do a double check on this. I've put back my 'execution time' to early evening as I'm about to start cooking the Sunday dinner (roast pork, apple sauce, sage 'n onion stuffing etc).
Then i will delete everything, re-download the A2A planes from the A2A shop, download the latest A2A Accusim.
Immediately, I will check my P3D v4 version; thanks for prompting me.

It is also important to have performed the P3D updated to v 4.1 properly. This requires uninstalling the V 4.0 client prior to installing the v 4.1 client. Some have been caught out by this as well.

Back again. Yup I've started P3D/across upper bar/open help/open About/and it read: P3D v4.1722841 and SimConnect v4.1.00

Now, P3D v4 was installed on my behalf (tho' with my payment credentials) by a trusted computer engineer. I wasn't in the room at the exact time on 13.10.17.
Because of the date and the engineers notes "install Prepar3D v4.1"

I've got the jitters a bit, because if I have to uninstall P3D (and later reinstall it) would I also have to uninstall all my Orbx scnery (and my other half a dozen GA planes)??!?

OK, Pork's in the oven!
It's dawned on me to add something I think really important. Both Comanche and T6 have been working well in recent days since everything was installed i.e. both planes were steering correctly on the ground. (Tho, for a few days Comanche autopilot lights wouldn't stay switched on. Then this resolved itself. Before Comanche developed no-steering).
So it seems a mystery. Hence my non-technical, simple or blunt logic. "Maybe files have got recently corrupted ...so lets clear 'em out and reinstall A2A planes"
Thank for considering my challenge (and hoping it is of interest to others in our community)

And before deleting OR "hitting it with the sledge hammer", after nosh, I will make some time and test out 182 and Cherokee to see if I've got steering problems with them too.
Aiming to message, with result of that test, before 7PM UK time this evening. Still hoping this messaging is of use to others.

Right then, Cherokee and 182 in Wolverhampton airfield. Both airplanes are steering perfectly on the ground.Great! So shut down 182, selected Comanche, started it and taxied and ground steering works. Yeh! Ditto T6; steering works. Mystified? I wont uninstall or reinstall anything. I'll sleep on it and try to figure this out?? Is this truly fixed or have I tricked it into working? ((I've read Scott's TOPIC below mine and I didn't see the Accu-sim updater 10.12.17 do the stuff that I was used to in FSX i.e. it just opened and closed, without "cycling" through the installed planes.))

This time a more normal test: started P3D and started Comanche, and it steers on ground, exited P3D; started P3D and started T6, and it steers on ground.

??!!??
The absence of steering on Comanche and T6 seems to have solved itself!

Must be the beer:
No beer=No steering
Beer=Steering

It seems I'll have to do the test again tomorrow!

Still puzzled

Likely to be a case closed. Good idea to close up with the beer. :)

Start P3D, load Comanche in Blackpool, ground steering perfect (fly to Liverpool at dusk)
Exit
Start P3D, load T6 in Liverpool, ground steering perfect (fly to Wolverhampton at night).

Look, NO beer!!!

They are fantastic planes; so immersive! (Also auto-pilot working well on both)

Many thanks for your support.(I've put the sledge hammer back in garage).
