accusim ever to be on a Bf-109?

Post by R-2800-59 »

Dear a2a community,

I still believe to remember a post by Scott where he told us that they were tinkering around with their Bf-109 in accusim core... this struck me so deep in my heart as this is one of my favorite airplanes, maybe my most favored one. When I was 8 I watched a documentary in german tv about a Bf-109 restoration with my dad, and to this day I remember the goosebumps it gave me when Walter Eichhorn closed the cowling and cranked the engine...

I am currently flying the Flight Replicas K-4 and created a soundset for it to sound like the real thing when I am doing flybys:

Although that plane is done quite well - it does neither have the looks nor the feel of a truebread Accusim warhorse like the P-51, P-40, P-47 or the Spit. Those were high performance, short-lifespan engines to really care about, and I don't feel it in the 109 I got. I can let the temp rise, push it to the limits, wobble the throttle and it won't even sputter, its no real simulation.
The magic startup:

The whistling, frontal and roaring, full, meaty exhaust sound...

The exceptional flight characteristics...

To have an early 109G as an A2A plane, only the imagination makes me shiver. it would really be a huge dream of me coming true. I hope deep from my heart that this day will come.

You're not alone. Hope to see the preferred mount of Erich Hartman and Gunther Rall sitting on the Accu-sim flight line someday.

I’d love to see the 109 as the next warbird. Always was a fan of those classic lines.

I'm sure there is a warbird presently on the A2A workbench, and I agree that a newer 109 or a 190 would be nice, but I'd rather they didn't take their foot off the pedal for the next new release. I'm guessing the release of 64 bit sims has slowed things down a bit as there's only so many hours in the day.

Cheers,
Mike

Mmmmm that sounds like an option for the current 109. All done in hires. [WINKING FACE]

The Germans should be included !
My vote too is with this one.
At least one accusim Luftwaffe warplane.
