Monarch ceases trading

Post by Tutmeister »

Sad news, although this probably only has meaning for people who know UK airlines.
I but I’ve always had a soft spot for Monarch due to plenty of family holiday flights from Manchester and Liverpool.

Thoughts with all the passengers and staff and good job CAA for arranging repatriation for everyone.

Hi Chris.
Yes very sad news indeed , when i was stationed at briz norton working on britannias , we had to occasionally work on a monarch britannia that called in there between 1970-1975.

Pretty rubbish news, but the response from other airlines has been amazing from Aer Lingus and BA both straight up posting links to training programmes and recruitment drives aimed directly at Monarch staff. Good stuff.

cheers,
