Do any of the rest of you get emails with the "ProFlightSimulator" scam? I think this one's been going around for awhile now. The language they used in the email they just sent me is almost laughable:
The Perfect Filler Between Real World Flying !
==>You've got to chéck this out...(2 days left)
This is important
Have you secured ProFlightSimulator yet?
If not, go immediately to do so...
As I've said, this is the most *REALISTIC* flight simulator that ever hit the market and it's still at a ridiculous low pricé:
If you want to experience REAL LIFE flying on your PC or MAC, ProFlight Simualtor will be the perfect game for you.
** Pricé is GOING UP in 24 hours time **
With over 120 aircrafts & 20,000 airports, this is the most comprehensive flight sim. Chéck it out and see why I endorse it so much.
You'll love it.
So hurry... before this οffer ends:

Re: ProFlightSimulator
This is almost like those letters from a prince in an African country where they have an inheritance for you - just send money first.
They are also littered with typos and other weird specimen.
Incidentally - why is the number of airports interesting? I'd rather have, like Flight Unlimited 2 and 3, a smaller area that is more detailed and a more focused approach, than the enormous to the point of being almost useless whole world.
This is why I love the Orbx regions so much. I can break out a chart and enjoy exploring the local areas and get to know the airports and airspaces intimately instead of flying from one dead strip in a desert to another dead strip in a forest.
120 aircraft? Damn. Are they Accusimmed? No? Thought not...

All the Accusim-planes are in my hangar, but they aren't sitting long enough for their engines to cool much before next flight!

Re: ProFlightSimulator
Hi.
I not only recognise the title , i used to have that sim , in its day it was not bad , but not a patch on todays sims , also if i remember correctly it was for windows 98 .
I also had flight unlimited 3 , small area around seattle , and if you was landing at ranger creek , you might have spotted big foot , the best aircraft in that was the motor glider and the seaplane.
Regards alan.

I gather that's what this particular thing is. It is legit software, but it's just a repackaged version of the older program.alan CXA651 wrote:Hi.

That was my first thought too!Medtner wrote:This is almost like those letters from a prince in an African country where they have an inheritance for you - just send money first.
Re: ProFlightSimulator
You know how those letters probably aren't really from an African prince, and so could potentially be from the same person who wrote this?Medtner wrote:This is almost like those letters from a prince in an African country where they have an inheritance for you - just send money first.
I agree with you about the number of airports and aircraft.
The number of airports isn't that amazing as FSX has it and you could take OSM data and add a generic legobrick airport at every airport location to fulfill that one as well.
Re the number of aircraft, yes. I'd much rather 3 or 4 really high quality aircraft (or even 1 or 2) than dozens of fly-and-forget ones.
edit: Then again, it's probably not aimed at us. We know that if you want the most 'realistic' flight sim then you probably want some variety of ESP-based sim, xplane or maybe DCS.
Proflight is I think, a repackaged, unofficial, copy of the free flight simulator FlightGear. The source code is free for FlightGear but it irks them that someone makes unrealistic claims about it and profits from their efforts.
FlightGear isn't a scam. I used to use it for a while. Some of the aircraft in it are alright, but (at least at the time I was using it) nothing comparable to AccuSim.....

I get at least two of those each day, plus who knows what else, thanks to that barsteward who cracked avsim and sold their user db to the spammers.
He committed suicide a ways back, and I hope it's nice and warm where he is. If only he'd done it sooner and saved us all the trouble.

Re: ProFlightSimulator
Yes, its a known scam, its actually repackaged open source sim Flight Gear normally. So you get to pay for what you can download for free, a total scam, keep in the spam folder and ignore for sure.
thanks,
Lewis
