Just a heads-up if you guys haven't seen this yet. A working P3DV4 Logbook Editor.
Has the ability to import to and from FSX and P3DV4 logbook.bin files.
I also has a report screen for total time in each aircraft type. So it combines the work done using the Logbook Editor plus the Logbook Viewer, needed with FSX.
Available over in the Avsim Library under "logedit3.zip"

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
Thanks for that. Now easy to see how much time I 'waste' on this... Interesting to see how few flights some planes have actually had over the years.

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
LogEdit3 reads my FSX log file just fine but my P3D V4 log file reports an error for each entry.
Not sure what to do.
I'm running P3D v4.2 and LogEdit 3.0.2.2

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
It's working correctly form me with P3D4.2 and still using version 3.0.2.0
I'm not an expert on the program by any means, but what sort of error are you seeing?

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
It says:
ERROR: There is an error at Aircraft Category field in record 1.
OK to Skip this record and continue or Cancel?
LogEditMain.LoadLogbook
Of course the record 1 is for every record.

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
Can you post a picture of the first page showing that particular flight.
What can happen is that if you have ever deleted a logbook entry using the default P3D logbook, and that was not the last flown and logged flight, that can cause issues.
You could end up with a corrupt logbook file. If you can figure out what it was, and then using this new logbook editor, you should be able to correct that logbook entry.
Just for a test, why not temporarily rename your current logbook.bin file to something like "logbook.bak".
Then go fly a single short flight from take-off to landing. After the flight check to see if the logbook opens up without that error.

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
FSX logbooks were the bane of my existence. Simply deleting a record would "corrupt" the log book files, and it wouldn't record for a few flights.
Best advice for FSX log book users - Look but don't touch.
I'm not sure how much has been worked on for P3D logbooks but I still take the same approach.

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
Those FSX logbook headaches pretty much haven't changed in P3D. They've actually made some things harder to work with, by making some data non-editable.
I use this new logbook editor for any and all work I do, and never actually use the P3D default logbook for anything other than looking.

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
Tell me how and I'd gladly send or attach a copy of my log book for you to test.
Again, a freshly generated P3D v4.2 log book would not open.

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
When you say it is not opening, do you mean the logbook in P3D won't open, or the logbook editor won't open?
Have you tried un-installing the logbook editor, renaming the default logbook.bin file and then trying to open the logbook using only P3D.
Start with the basics. If the P3D logbook won't open, with the logbook editor un-installed, then that would tend to point back to a P3D logbook issue.

Re: Heads-Up! Working P3DV4 Logbook Editor
P3D has no problem reading the log book.
Reinstall of the editor makes no difference.
Even tried a new logbook by deleting the current log book and reflying, creating a new log book.
