Plan-G is very good, but recently I started using Little Navmap, which is quite nice as well:

Little Navmap is a little gem! Much more functionality than Plan-G, IMHO!

I just discovered Little Navmap, it is much more powerful and stable than PlanG. Rarely PlanG completes a flight without stopping to operate and crash. If one day it could be Navigraph compatible, it would be the icing on the cake 8)

I have just started using Little Navmap as well.
Reason 1: You can export flight plans to load in the native GTN750 (Garmin) format!

The GTN flight plan conversion and export alone make this a wonderful flight planner. They also have another free file for moving map purposes.

Little NavMap (LNM) is up to v1.6.7 now. https://github.com/albar965/littlenavmap/releases

I installed it on my MS Surface Pro 4 as well as on my main machine. Both computers are linked via Windows 10 HomeGroup, so I can share files, etc. The LNM online help info shows how to link LNM on the Surface to LNM on the main machine. Now I can plan flights on the main machine, then launch LNM on the Surface and load the flight plan from the main machine. Then I can launch AS4 and P3Dv4.1 on the main machine, and fly the airplane, with the LNM flight plan showing up on the Surface set up on a side table. How cool is that?

I tried it out with my MJ C-47 on legs 2 and 3 of AM-21 West for DC-3 Airways (remember the early chapters in "Fate is the Hunter"?) Zooming in to the airport diagram allow taxing at controlled fields without using those yellow darts. AI traffic shows up on the screen, as well as my aircraft. I could see the controlled airspace and instantly knew if I was above the Class B or C ceiling and didn't have to call in for clearance. Also, I could see when to begin a 500 fpm descent for the destination.

Will have to try a full-on IFR flight soon. I love this stuff!

I use Flt Plan Go. This is a great EFB that runs on an iPad or iPhone and connects to your flight sim.

And the only source of FREE georefetenced approach plates and taxi diagrams that I’m aware of...

I use it in conjunction with LNM for generating the FS files...

Guys: I recently discovered a really cool feature in LittleNavMap. The default setup comes with two rows of buttons across the top. These rows are separated into discrete segments that you can turn off or on, and maybe move around (not sure about this; I just use 'em in the default setup). On the bottom row is a Map Airspaces Toolbar, with several buttons that let you show or hide different types of airspace. The last button is really cool, in that you can select the altitudes for which the various airspaces are displayed. Right now I have this button set to "flight plan altitude."

I have to go explore my new ORBX scenery. Mebbe some touch and goes in the P-40 at Siletz Bay (S45).
