Vlado Lenoch

Post by DHenriques_ »

A2A lost a friend this morning and I lost a close friend.
Vlado Lenoch died along with a passenger in a P51 he was flying. Details are sketchy at this time. I would ask that everyone please refrain from speculation concerning the crash. Please feel free to post personal thoughts about Vlado.
This has been a difficult day for a lot of us in the warbird community.
Thank you all for your support and compliance with my request.

I talked with him over the internet a handful of times but never met him in person. Condolences to all that knew him here. Shocked. Sorry, guys.

Just seen this over on the WIX forums.

It seems he and his passenger, 34 year old Bethany Root, were killed in the accident.

(It appears that the P-51 was 'Baby Duck').

WIX thread: -

A real tragedy, and a sad day for both the historic aircraft community and the flightsim one also.

My condolences to the friends and families of both Vlado and Bethany.

Cheers

Paul

Sorry Jeff, we just can't have videos of airplanes crashing tied to this thread. I know this wasn't intentionally insensitive but family members and hundreds are mourning atm over losing Vlado.

Vlado is probably the only reason I can go to an airshow and watch a zero-floor performance today. After witnessing Jim LeRoy's crash in 2007 up close (it happened almost directly in front of me and I was on the fence line), I reached out to him because he was on a forum I was part of and he had just finished the Heritage Flight demonstration in Moonbeam when the accident occurred. It was his advice and encouragement that helped me cope with what was the 2nd Fatal accident for me to be involved with in 2 years, the other taking the life of a good acquaintance, and go back to airshows again without having to either look away during performances or simply avoiding going to not have to deal with the feelings I had whenever I saw a "low" show.

He is going to be missed by a lot of people. His generosity of time and knowledge not only to the P-51 community, but to the airshow community as a whole cannot be fully quantified.

Just heard the news this morning via Facebook. Absolutely devastating. I know how close Vlado was to the A2A family, and my heart goes out to all of you, and to his own family and friends.
