Great to see a2a involved with this too. Seeing the video and also the list of Devs involved has given me confidence in this. Looking forward to it and hopefully some a2a aircraft for it!

If A2A is in, I'm in.

Looks like a promising new platform! Is it sad that, by far, the thing that excites me most is that they have VC rain effects? ;-)

Hope to hear more about it soon. Cliff, your post is the first information I'd seen about the topic, so thanks!

Does anyone know , from A2A, if aircraft already purchased for FSX will work and function properly in FSW? It would be a real shame to have invested in aircraft that will not work on the new platform. Just wondering.

That's pretty exciting. Let's see how it looks when it comes out. Thanks for the heads up!

64 bits, Accufeel and Orbx compatibilty, CPU/GPU load balancing.
They ticked the right boxes.

It's going to have to include all of the options and features already available in FSX/P3D to bring me over. 64-bit P3D would have an impact on my decision as well.

Sounds great so far, but much info still needed.

This might be it!

I'm so sick and tired of FSX and the the million things that can break in a reasonably complete setup (and continually do).

I just hope they don't build another "sim" without head tracking support, still the biggest joke regarding Flight...

And hey... this thing could be properly fit for VR, how great that would be!

I thought Flight eventually added TrackIR support, didn't it? I couldn't believe it at first when they left that out!

Just my opinion of course but I believe Flight was doomed from its beginning resulting from a fatally flawed business model.

Agreed. It was a big improvement in the flight modelling dept and I loved the introduction of sloped and banked runways, unfortunately there was nothing that could be done to save it from that business model.

Hopefully looking forward to what's happening now in the simulation community, with the advent of new technology equating to improved software and hardware combined, the future looks much brighter today for the community than it did when Flight was released.
A2A I'm sure will be chest deep in what can now be developed.

Everything sounded great, right up to minimum hardware requirements, "GTX 980". WTF! So, I need to spend another $200.00 to have access to a 64 bit platform. I sure hope it's a misprint. If not, I may be headed in a orally different direction. Just saying.
