Academic and Professionnal bundles what difference ?

Post by gege21 »

Hello dear fan flyers :)

If I go to purchase some aircraft, what is the difference between Academic and Professional stuff please ?

I'm not a real pilot just virtual player.

Cheers

Not greedy, they are just a business that has their sim under constant development, and they have to pay the people that are working on it. Hard to find good software people that will work for free.

The more expensive licenses also assume a certain level of support as they are meant to be used by professional for training operations.

There are 2 different versions of the PREPAR3D sim - Pro and Academic. http://www.prepar3d.com/

As far as A2A aircraft are concerned, you will need to buy the appropriate version to match the version of the sim you have licensed for use.

If you use FSX, you just buy the one-and-only FSX version.

Hi

I was wondering about this too. I have developer license. Which one should I buy?

If you're not a professional/training institution of some sort just buy the academic version.

What made me wonder is that the developer licences from P3D are for the professional versions of the simulator, so I just want to make sure I don't buy something that's not going to work, or that will give me problems.

It won't give you any problems. The software itself is exactly the same, it's only the license that's different.

Thank you to all for the clarification. :)

As I plan to move from FSX SE to P3D, I'm going to stop buying anything else for FSX.

I'm waiting for a 64 bit version of a flight simulator for now.

May be P3D is the right way to go.

Cheers

Won't a new version of P3D mean buying it all over again? I'd just wait until the 64-bit version is out and see if it works with existing addons.
