Is Spadjockey still with us?

I am so sorry to hear of Spad's passing. With a heavy heart I'll remember the good times and laughter we had with Spad while he was active on the Forum. God Bless Spad and his family and close friends.

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!

Damn, I missed it. I was at the hospital that day and hadn't checked the forums in time. Well, at least we know. Godspeed, Spad. I'm sure you're reading from the hereafter.

This is the first time I have ever felt like writing a poem, please don't be too harsh on me for my feeble attempt. This is the best I can do to express my feelings.

For Steve;
As death takes another one we know,
be grateful for the ones that helped us grow.
Don’t be said for the ones that are gone,
they did leave us to walk the world alone.
We miss them and think of them every day,
as we recall things and phrases they would say.
You know in your heart they would not want us to be sad,
they would want us to live our lives and be glad.
As they are in heaven looking down,
just look up and talk to them and try not to frown.
For us our lives still go on,
But they are right here and did not leave us alone.
Family, Friends, and I
are the most important things
in life. Always in that order.
Once you're faced with death you will no longer be scared of it.
Life has a new joy to it, cherish it.

I was thinking of Spad and remembered that I had shared my modified A-1 with him. I had changed the flight dynamics and the sound to make it in my opinion more authentic. He said he enjoyed flying this modified version. Spad and I were in the Navy about the same time and I believe he was in a training squadron at Lemoore NAS. I was in a sea going squadron and we spent time at Lemoore when we were not on the ship. We never met then but it is a small world. At any rate I just took it for a spin and took a couple of screen shots I thought I would share with everyone. Think of old Spad Jockey when you view them and perhaps imagine him in the cockpit making his final flight. He was a one of a kind.
