Flight 1 GNS 430 & 530

Post by Smilin Jack »

Anyone else see this? http://www.simforums.com/forums/flight1 ... 56275.html
Product page here: http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=f1gns

Any possibility that these might be integrated into the GA planes (C172, C182, Cherokee, and Comanche) someday?

Great alternative to the GTNs especially in P3D!

I especially like the part about replacing RXP for the planes I have in P3D. 8)

Adding these should be relatively non-laborious as the 3D model is already there for RXP units. Just some magic would be needed to integrate the different gauge. :)

Count me in. I've been waiting a long time for a quality GNS set for Prepar3D. What about it A2A team? Will you consider integration for these units? They seem a lot more like the real thing compared to the Mindstar solution.

FYI... the Flight1 GNS 430/530 was just released. I honestly hope that A2A is able to add this integration to the C172, Cherokee and the Comanche.

I hope so too! But it already works quite very well with A2A's RXP VC integration :) Here are two pictures of the Flight1 GNS in the PA-28 and PA-24:

You only have to choose the RXP GNS 430 and/or 530 in the respective A2A config tool and then open the Flight1 GNS config tool to automatically replace the RXP panel entries. I'm very impressed with the Flight1 GNS units :)

Tim, are you on P3D? How could you install the RXP units since A2A removed the RXP option in one of their latest updates?

This makes me unable to install my Flight1 units now.
It was working a few hours ago before I installed the latest A2A updates :(
Best regards
Emanuel

I have the mind star units as well but haven't been able to make needed edits to make the F1 replace it. No option that I see to enable by way of RXP in P3Dv3 as RXP isn't supported. I did get it to work in another devs aircraft ok, but there are still some niggles such as power on has to be done via pop up etc. The units I have working are wonderful and IMHO are better than the mindstar in as far as updates should go more frequent and smooth.

Now if we can get A2A to cross over the mindstar models to F1 GNS........that would be perfect 8)

Confused. I fly FSXSE. Can I install the new F1 GNS modules already in my c172 & Cherokee?

Hi Emi,

Yes, the option is grayed out, but you just need to go to your "\Prepar3D v3\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_<XXX>\panel\" directory, make a copy of the relevant configuration file (depending on the F1 GNS units you have, for example "panel_RXP_530.cfg"), and then rename the copy to "panel.cfg". Then run F1GNSConfig, select the plane and click "Replace RealityXP".

Bear in mind I've only tested this with the C172, but I suppose it should work with other planes as well.

Thanks Tym, works perfectly in the 172 and Cherokee. Most likely will put the 530 in the 182 and Comanche as well. Sweet work around. 8)

Good to read this workaround will enable us to use the Flight1 GNS in Prepar3D. Everything is working as it should? (Power on/off, clickspots etc.)
