Is anybody using this?
I've just got one to try out on the F-16 Simulator and another to use for P3d, as with Moody Blue I don't need 6Dof in the sim and can "fake" (apparently) lean over with OpenTrack.
Looking forward to trying it out as I am totally fed up with the Track IR drift, loss of contact and weak LED frame problems. A pity because I have been using Track IR since the very first one was released. No camera, no view limits and no plastering up led units may well be the death of my three Track IR units!!

Re: ED Tracker
Would like to hear more about your experience with it. Longtime TrackIR user but I've been struggling with it ever since I moved to a 34" 21:9 monitor - it routinely loses contact and stutters when I look to the right. Definitely open to a TrackIR alternative.

I'll let you know Mate.
Yes, the move to bigger screens has been problematic for Track IR.

Re: ED Tracker
Interesting, as others have said be good to know how you get on. Esp the ease of setup as I found that always a PITA with trackIR, took a lot of setting up to get something comfortable with. Great once there but took a bit to get there so to speak.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: ED Tracker
I emailed Dan Howell of ED Tracker last night and just got a reply. This looks VERY interesting for FSX. He sent several links explaining the tracker's use in FSX. Apparently, after simple calibration using the tracker applet you can go into FSX and it will allow the tracker to be set up as a controller using the settings. Nothing could be simpler. You just assign the 3 pan axis yaw, pitch, and tilt to the tracker and that's it. The tracker will function as your view hat. It's unbelievably simple. I saw the film. It uses our Cherokee 180 actually. It's very effective.
My first impression was very good because the tracker does NOT involve forward and backward head movement as does the Track IR. I actually see this as a plus as that drove me nuts. You can of course move forward and backward using the + and - keys as always.
This thing looks REALLY promising.

Re: ED Tracker
Hi guys,
It's Dan here from EDTracker - Dudley tipped me off to the thread and I'm happy to chip in and help you guys out with any questions. I'll say up front right now, I'm not a massive FSX player myself but I can certainly talk to the device and how it's set up/used, if you have any queries . I'm UK based so just off to bed but I'll pick up any queries tomorrow.
Cheers,
Dan
