I am having a problem with the sea planes.

A trick I used to do is to keep a clean fsx install on a separate computer and copy paste stuff that gets messed up, effects folder most often...

I did that already.
It effects all my sea planes

You need to delete your effects and replace it with someone else's . save ave the old one first. Here is mine.

What about an FS repair? It looks like one of your effect files is corrupt, if you can pinpoint which exact one someone could send you the .fx file.

By removing two files, fx_1.bmp and fx_5.bmp, I can induce the same problem you have. If a 'repair' does not work, try placing these two files in your FSX\Effects\texture folder. They are out of my FSX:Steam but should be the same as the disc version.

In Firefox, right click and select 'save link as' from the menu. Not sure what it would be in IE.
