I thought I would make a new thread for this so here it goes. I had said that I had gotten married under the nose of the B-17 and said that I would post a few pics.
This first one is of Her Walking around the B-25 to tie the ol knot.
This one is of us taking our vows.
This one I guess they thought they would be funny and tie a knot on my side of the ring bear that her nephew carried to us wearing what kids wore in those days.
The next two are of me standing by the B-17 Thunderbird.
Now here is what I don't get about people. I'm 5-11 and about 145 pounds. I bought that original 8th Airforce uniform from an ol pilot and it could not have fit better. People complain about the size of the pilot in the WOP planes but look at me standing next to the B-17... I am the average size for a pilot or crew member at that time and the plane is HUGE compaired to me. Heck the prop is bigger than I am. I hope someone see's my point to where I'm going with that... hehehe Well I'll be able to post more great pics later. We had the B-25 to the left, B-17 as the center piece, F4U the the right followed by a P-38 and P-47 kind of in a half circle around us.... It was great!!!
A few WWII wedding pics

I'd say by the looks of the perspex on the front of that 17 that it's a modified F maybe an E.
Any chance of you getting any real serial numbers from her?
BTW ... Nice shots, nice planes, nice bride! Congratulations.

Congratulations Point-man!
WND, according to my information the B-25 was stored dismantled in Vermont from 1979-1984
I had never noticed that before. The nose does look a bit odd for a G. It's a Lockheed-built B-17G, 44-85718Snuffy_Hadden wrote:I'd say by the looks of the perspex on the front of that 17 that it's a modified F maybe an E.

WND, are you thinking that B-25 came from Burlington or Rutland?
There was a B-25 fo the same color, that was featured on a PBS station years ago, that was in Vt. Supposedly it was sold and on it's way to where I can't remember. This was back in the early 80s mind you.

Yep, I thought that was it.... I do remember Middlebury Vt. Tho I don't recall the pilots name, I can still see the program about it in my mind.
