FSX failures

Post by aikichris »

Hi all - hope this is the right place to post this.....
I am a keen flight simmer, and PPL holder flying out of Cumbernauld Scotland.
I have real world time in C152,C172, and Diamond Katana.
I have the following A2A products: Cub,C172,C182,Piper Cherokee,Spitfire,P47,P51,B17 (all with accu-sim)
- oh and prior to a recent upgrade to FSX I had on FS9 pretty much all the 'wings of power' addons....you get the idea.......!
The reason for my post was to ask if setting random failures through FSX such as engine failures, has any effect on the accu-sim settings i.e. engine state or damage modelling?
Any advice would be gratefully received!
Chris.

Accusim works outside of fsx. I turn off the fsx failures

Hello,

Due to the Accu-sim engine operating outside of FSX and by standard modelling many things that don't exist in the FSX code itself we don't recommend using the standard failure system in conjunction with the Accu-sim aircraft.

Thanks,
Lewis

Thanks for the replies.
I had suspected this, and have not tried setting failures on any A2A aircraft I have.
It might be nice for a future update to include this, as I find it an excellent tool for practising emergency procedures in the sim, particularly when you don't know exactly when it will happen.
Happy flying...
Chris.
