The Florida, Bermuda, New England Tour

Post by FAC257 »

The crew is airborne once more! :D

After our little vacation the warbirds were ready to go this AM. As it often happens we had a nice little squadron for take off which grew as the day progressed.

Just prior to take off from Roberts International on Grand Cayman Island.

From the Caymans we headed northward for Florida. With the Spitfire along we have to watch the fuel a little closer so we made a quick stop along the north coast of Cuba (MUVR). After The first official stop of the day at Opa-locka (KOPF), Florida we then flew non-stop along the coast and into southern Georgia. While enroute it was decided that the best bet for our first base camp of the tour would be at Savannah International (KSAV).

The weather coming into KSAV was a little rough. Landing is scary enough in the 190 without this mess.

Thanks everybody that showed up to kick the new adventure off to a good start. :)

First of all, for several reason's we have decided to change the location of "adventure postings" to here - since it is a "pilots lounge" - I hope you continue to enjoy the stories / comments / pics etc.

Second, As FAC has indicated, we ARE flying again!!! :D

Unfortunately :( I had some technical issue's with my camera today so I don't have any pictures to pass on HOWEVER I do want to thank everyone who participated - as usual we all had fun - felt great to be flying again, and I already have next weeks flight plan done!!!!!!! :o

Sooooo, if your available, come join us again!!!!!

Have a great week!!
Bill

You are welcome Scott. Thanks for the excellent aircraft that we can fly. We usually bombard the forum with screenies every weekend after our Sat flight. :D

John

P.S. I messed up those shots during editing and they are blurry  They really looked much better :(

It strange, when I was on late last night, I was able to talk to people, and they could hear me fine :? I have no idea why some can't. :(

The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.

The only thing missing from this is the machine guns firing, some smoke and some damage ... it looks awesome!

Hey Red

This is what the title line for your B-17 looks like on my end.

"title=Boeing B-17G Ramp Rooster"

Is your current one different?

BTW You did great as flight leader. :)

AH! This explains the problem  whoops. I actually have three "Ramp Rooster" skins. The one I sent you, another G version with slightly different AF stars(more of a test skin so don't worry about it). The skin I was flying is an F model with the same name...I'll see if I can send it to you. Sorry about that
