Brits Land A Helo At Sea

Post by cflord »

Watch this Brit pilot land his helo on a ship in rolling seas. The pucker factor had to be a 9 or a 10!

Now that is landing on a postage stamp that's waving back at you  I'm sure it took at least five for the pilot's rear to unlock from the seat :D

I've been working at sea for nearly 15 years, and that vid is properly awe-inspriring!

The Lynx is a pretty amazing bit of kit. I've just come back from a weekend at the Bournemouth Air Festival in the UK and watched a few impressive Lynx/Wildcat displays including this sort of thing!

A Brit helo for sure, but don't think it's Brit piloting. The vid shows a Danish Navy Lynx landing on a Danish Warship (and Prism Defence is apparently an Australian-owned company). Who can tell with pilot exchange programmes, but I'm guessing them's big Viking Balls!

Certainly picked the right moment to plant it on deck though!

All the best,
Nick

The Lynx is a mk90B which is the export version and the pilot is a Prism Defence test pilot landing on the Ejnar Mikkelson (P571) of the Danish Royal Navy according to a few websites I've seen.
