This is a 360 panorama of the B-36 cockpit, starting at the Flight Engineers station/panel. Six reciprocating R-4360s and four J-47 jet engines to keep an eye on, plus fuel, pressurization, hydraulics, electrical, and other aircraft systems.

Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Re: B-36 Cockpit
Very interesting Cliff, thanks for that. Its a fascinating aircraft. Looking round it, I'm left wondering where the entrance to the flight deck is - I can't see any hatches or doors. Does anyone know ?
EDIT: Looked a bit closer - maybe they entered down the left side of the cockpit, behind the pilot's seat.

Re: B-36 Cockpit
Thanks very much for that, Stiz.
I'd love to see some more of the Big Stick's interior, and the various crew positions. Its just such an interesting aircraft.

Re: B-36 Cockpit
Thanks Cliff. You can see the sweat spots where the left seat engineer must of had a hard time keeping track of all systems. Or maybe he peed himself, I know I would if things started to fail!

Wow, what a fantastic site.
I highly recommend spending some time on the main site, http://www.nmusafvirtualtour.com/, and taking a gander at the whole collection they have.
Also, there are 360 views of the other crew stations on the B-36.

Re: B-36 Cockpit
I was looking in the WW2 and came across the B-29. It has a full in-depth cockpit that can easily help for an A2A Accu-simmed B-29! Sorry to bring that up though, I was just thinking of it. It showes the cockpit from the back entrance to the bombardier's seat.

No no no...NEVER apologize for typing 'Accusim' and 'B-29' in the same sentence.Joey wrote:I was looking in the WW2 and came across the B-29.
