Should A2A make a B-36 Super Heavy bomber?
Should A2A make a B-36 Super Heavy bomber?
I strongly believe YES. I, though, think it would be too big to Accu-sim, since it's about the size of a 747.

If you don't know what the B-36 is, LOOK IT UP!

Might be wrong but I think the FSX SDK only supports up to four engines.
Could be a problem

Is that true? I've seen videos with an AN-225 in FSX with no problem....
...yet again that was freeware...maybe this applies to payware?

The question isn't if they should, it is when...

The An-225 has 4 engines in the flight model that are adjusted to give the total thrust of 6. FS has a hard limit of 4 engines.Joey wrote:Tomesk wrote:Might be wrong but I think the FSX SDK only supports up to four engines.

As for the B-36 it lacks the one thing required for Accusim- a flying example. Without it, there is a lot left to be desired since no really good data on the inflight performance is available beyond the planning charts that were calculated and not derived from actual performance.

I don't mean to Accu-sim it, but to just have a fun model for users to play with, not to even Accu-sim it. And you can even do the earlier model without the four extra jets. And just like with the freeware AN-225, add the thrust of six. I thought it would be interesting if you did.

Wait a minute, after re-reading your comment, I understand. Nevermind then.Joey wrote:I don't mean to Accu-sim it, but to just have a fun model for users to play with, not to even Accu-sim it. This I did not know about.Tomesk wrote:Might be wrong but I think the FSX SDK only supports up to four engines.

And it make me wonder a bit. I took a look at Captain Sim's B-52, that aircraft have 8 engines with a throttle with 8 single ones. Then I wonder how that works?
Re: Should A2A make a B-36 Super Heavy bomber?
Also FSX cannont handle two different engine types on on aircraft. i.e. Cant do 2 turning and 2 burning.

Re: Should A2A make a B-36 Super Heavy bomber?
The way FSX works is actually that the model dynamics can only accept up to four engines, and not mixed types. How developers get around it is by creating four engines strong enough to emulate mixed types or more engines. I believe Accu-Sim could indeed work around this problem, since most of the engine code is ripped away from FSX via Accu-Sim. I also doubt with their full plate that a B-36 is in the works.

I agree that a complex B-36 would be a great, fun lumbering beast in accu- sim....and to get around the mixed engines limitation...why not do a B-36B (doesn't have the added four jets)? I'll take an accu-simmed B-50 or B-29 as a "consolation prize" however!

Maybe the B-36 is kinda big.....yet again, like what some people ask: how does the Captain Sim B-52 still fly? Probably since the combined engines, it can easily make the flight model have four....IDK.

A B-29 would probably be better. Since there's the FiFi B-29, they can probably get a hold of that. It would be nice to bring back the Axis fighters as well. The last time A2A made an Axis fighter was 5 years ago....LONG before Accu-sim.
