Windows 7 permissions.

Post by thunderstreak »

I have recently reformatted my system and installed Windows 7 to replace Vista.
I have been slowly reinstalling FSX and all of my addons, testing at each step along the way to monitor the effects on frame rates.
I backed up my Payware downloads to my other PC and move each one back as I install them via my network.
I keep having issues with folder permissions, not letting me move or modify things.
I even had trouble modifying an aircraft .cfg file when adding a repaint.
I have set myself as administrator w/ full permissions which with older O/S has been enough.
Any ideas how to change the settings on the whole system to fix this as opposed to 1 folder at a time.

Step 1. uninstall all of your FSX stuff including FSX itself.
Step 2. reinstall FSX making sure you dont install it in either the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" folders.
Job done.
