Sooner or later it's gonna run outa fuel and crash land.

A 'Fortress' of the sky has been reported circling A2A's home airfield!!!

Any news?

Yep buzz, you're right. It's "circling" for some days/weeks now.

I know b-17s have a large range, but this one seems to have HUGE external and auxillary tanks!

Or it is soaring...than you seem to have some good winds over there.

And what about the cockpit crew? Is there a toilet on board? Do they have something to eat?

Or...is it a radio-controlled joke?

In that crew's defense, if you had the chance to fly a B-17, would you want to come down and land if you didn't have to?

Sounds to me like some Area 51 type stuff going on. Maybe some top secret research B-17 with far extended range to battle the Nazi anti-polar bomber. Oh wait that was the B-29. In answer to the last question nope I wouldn't come down. Perosnally managed to put 30 hours on the 377 this week. Have had a hard time trying to stay out of it between work/sleep. Don't know how I will balance 4 Accu-sim birds once this one hits the store.

That must be a darn wide pattern, the 17 is still on base?

Tower Controler is shaking his head as he turns to the ground controller and says, "I coulda swore I called his turn to final yesterday."

Ground controller turns to his buddy and says, " Dave, I think your gonna have some splaining to do, since that 17 has vanished."

:)

Looking foreward to the release.

It's possible that the pattern is just huge. On a real life flight, I had a tower put me on a 9 mile final....in a Diamond DA-20. It felt like I was on final for 10 minutes. When I finished my turn from base I could barley see the runway. The funniest part is that on the GPS it showed that I wasn't even in the towers airspace anymore when I did finally turn to final.

Base leg is good news...as long as there won't be a "missed approach" and a "go around"....

Hey Guys

Maybe the B-17 is still airborne after all this time because it is being refueled by the upcoming KC-97! You can't rush perfection, A2A will get it right!

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!
