Post by Joachim »

Now that we have 2 Allied fighters on deck, when OHHH when will I see my plane, the FW-190-D.
Please Scott and Team, I am getting older every day, soon to be 85.
After all we got to have competion and one German fighter should be OK.

The D will be an great 'machine' to fly and we have a good head start. We have a Cub that is going to beta shortly and two accusim packs to get out, and then we can resume with the D.

Captain Jakey, I totally agree, as an old German pilot, not having had the pleasure to fly the BF 109 or
the FW 190 during WW2, I love to fly them on our simm.
Makes me feel young again.

Her Obergefrieter, the 109 was a PLEASURE to fly?. I once had the privlege of meeting General Der Jagdflieger Galland, his view of the 109 was a LITTLE different!. he was very enthusiatic about the 190 and of course the 262.

He did by, the way ask Goering for a Gruppe of Spitfires--he had a failry low opinion of "Fat Hermann", he had a better opinion of Ernst Udet but felt that as head of Der Technische Amt, he was out of his depth, and Goering's refusal to relieve him caused his suicide.

Cathy,
Of Galland it was told that he could maneuver the 109 in ways not thought to be possible.

Captain Jake,
As stated in some of my former post's, I flew all kinds of planes, single and multi engine, in A-B Luftwaffe pilot School FFSA41 Frankfurt/Oder
but not high powered fighter planes.
We mechanics and experienced Glider pilots were finally called in 1944 when a pilot shortage became eminent.
The Russian forced closed in on our school in the fall of 1944 and from then on all non-flying personall went into infantry combat.
