What's happened to my FSX???????

Post by letsgetrowdy »

My default flight is the a2a mustang at Duxford. Like every other time when I start FSX, the menu comes up fine, but when I hit the Fly Now button, it takes up to about 6 minutes to load, when it used to take around twenty seconds! When i fly, the aircraft's frame rate's are appaling, averaging about a frame every two seconds... This now happens with all the aircraft, and ALL the airports. I do have plenty of disk space left and no other programs running, yet this still happens.

Some one please tell me what has happened or what I'm doing wrong

My PC is a Vista with a 150 GB hard drive and around 50 GBs still avialable.

Howdy,
Do you add any new tweaks, or update you graphics driver?

I would delete your fsx config and let it build a new one, and see if that fixes your problem.
It's located here: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX
Also, defrag your hard drive.

Cheers, thanks for your help.
I will try this, but I cannot seem locate the "Appdata" folder which you described :?
Also, I will leave it to defrag overnight, as this takes about eight hours on my PC, which you've probably worked out isn't the quickest.
Thanks again

If you still are struggling....
Do you use nhancer and if so have you updated the video drivers without uninstalling nhancer and then reinstalling after the new drivers are in?

Oh, thanks very much, Test Pilot, but I have managed to fix the problem, which was the screen size format.
Thanks again :)
