Loss of flying controls (just about!)

Post by Hot_Charlie »

Just bought the Jug...

One thing got my attention. Once I had dropped the tanks (and bomb) on the P47D-25 MX-E (haven't tried on the rest of the models yet), I appeared to lose all control authority in roll and pitch - full control deflection would result in a max pitch and roll angle of a couple of degrees. In the VC the stick was moving to full deflection...

Interesting problem. Left me a little confused...

You may have inadvertently turned on the autopilot.

Tried that one, or at least I though I had, so I will go back and double check. I replicated the condition 3 times, "losing control" (beautifully straight and level) as I dropped the tanks...

What key command did you set for dropping drop tanks?

Change it to something like N. See if that makes a difference. I don't know if it will help, just an idea I had.
I have had sort of the same problem before, sometimes when I switch planes the autopliot come on so I have no control over the aircraft. I don't know why it happens. It doesn't bother me much, I just press ctrl+z and ctrl+H and everything is fine. Your problem most likely has to do with the autopilot.

I tryed myself too the same situation with P47-25 but everything seems to be Ok with flight controls.Instead I found another problem, dropping a bomb will not change your gross weight (it is still there) not-Ok.Dropping a fuel tank is changing your gross weight-Ok.

No problem now. Changed the "drop tanks" command to something other than "shift+D"
