The JUG is turning into a "Caddy!' I just can't believe all the stuff that's included in it. The 2D panels are nice, very user friendly, so the pilot doesn't have to search around for the right switch in a tight moment. I'm sure I'll be downloading it by the end of the week? Semper Fi, MudMarine

No, C-47s., and B-47s. I did however train on the AT6 which, according to the P47 pilot''s manual, "flys like the P47" ie, requires active coordination of Rudder with aileron to keep the ball centered in a turn, has similar spin recovery characteristics.... and was relatively easy to fly.

My interest in flying the extremely realistic P47 you have developed, springs from the fact that my best friend was killed flying one.( I had talked him into joining the Air Force with me, but we were assigned to different training so went different paths.)

Sorry I didn't see this until now, Max.

Yes, I enlisted in 1942, and actually was in for several wars, for I retired medically in 1965.

I was a navigator/bombardier in WWII in B29's. After that war and before the Korean one I became a pilot, and later qualified as a radar operator .

I was on a combat crew in one capacity or another for 13 years.

Even after 200hrs on P47 variants, I had not flown them at night.

Was near Calcutta. Needed to visit my WRNS girlfriend in Trincomalee.

Landed late pm. Unpacked & checked Her whereabouts. IN BOGAWANTALWA - a hill station near Colombo!!!

Re-pack - leap ito the Jug - & off. But, Hell, it started getting dark. Climbed like mad to keep the sun in sight while I frantically searched those banks of switches for some cockpit lights. Gentle sweat.


At last. But then my radio failed & I had no idea what my course should be. Some time later, radio contact. "You are 90 miles West of Ratmalana going West. Turn onto..............."

With some relief, landed safely. Found a mail truck going up to the hill stations - all night bone-shaking ride. Sat uncomfortably in Hotel till breakfast time & contacted person.

She was not persuaded. Last meeting!!

That's life?? The brilliant cockpit photographs on this board really make the blood flow again. And the spine chill!!

The P-47 is a great ride in FS9 so how about a little help and giving her a check ride in FSX? Tried to and have no success.

i own just about all the payware P 47's and i can truly say WOP P 47's are with out any doubt the finest there is hands down!!!
