Head's Up on Faux English Text Error

Post by Dukera »

I upgraded today from 2.12 to 2.13 and noticed in the Options - More GPX page I always got the English text error.
So I got smart and stopped trying to go to that page, flew a good bomber intercept, couple of dogfights and two historic missions to completion or getting shot down.
So the sim worked but that one page did not.
I had copied my BDG from 2.12 which had particle density set to high and within my BDG changed it from 3 to 2.
Problem solved but I do notice the only options for density in 2.13 are Low and Medium.

Just FYI.

Ah. Very good sleuthing. Duly noted; we'll get that
fixed. Thanks. We had a rather small number of
testers for this patch, and all were BoB2 veterans who
knew to keep Particle Density medium or below, so
would never have encountered this.

We had been advising people for several years in
the patch release notes to keep the particle density
at medium or below to avoid crashes, but we finally
acquired the skills to edit the option screen to
eliminate the problem. I would not have thought there
were people out there still using a higher setting.

Well, it will be properly fixed on the next patch release...

Yeah, I copied my settings from an old 2.12 version after my pc had a melt down and I had done a reinstall. Should have gone through the menus rather than copy BDG and other configuration files across.
