Vsync Question

Post by Fish 40 »

I know what it dose, and I read the thread concerning the ATI issues, which includes me (2xHD5850's). I have it enabled to "always on", however I'm not sure it's working in the game. I'm still seeing tearing on the canopy framework when I pan around the cockpit. I enabled via the thread, to right click the ATI tray tool, and set to always on. It's set, but I don't think it's showing in the game. Dose the game need this, or dose having it disabled cause a problem here? Aside from the visual tearing aspect, I don't really care. It's not that bad that I can't live with it.

I get that canopy tearing with my ATI video cards no matter what I've tried. The NVIDIA cards were better with vsynch and BoBII.

Aloha Stickman! I've always used ATI, so I really don't know too much about "those other guys" lol. Anyway, I guess it's safe to say that BOB doesn't care either way; on or off?

I have vsynch Always On, and still see the canopy front frames tearing when panning view.

Force vertical sync in the driver control panel if you see tearing. Especially with an LCD at 60Hz, it can be most gratifying.

Whoops, obviously didn't understand the question when I replied before. OK, AMD drivers are apparently notorious for the VSync override to fail. There is a program called RivaTuner that you can download, which has an option called D3DOverrider which will force VSync on everything.

Let me know if this meets your needs.

Aside from the tearing, no.
