No such thing as a good 109, they're a flying boxcrate/box of rocks :D How about a long nose dora that would be sweet! Semper Fi, MudMarine

Obviously the likes of Adolf Galland would disagree with you, along with most of Germany's top aces. Admittedly they were superceded by the later mark Spitfires, P-51 etc., but hardly deserve your disparegement.

From my research, most of the Germans thought the 109F was the best model....after that, it was downhill.....

It's also interesting to note that 1/3 of all 109's were lost during take-off or landing accidents/ground loops.....

I believe Eric Hartmann of 7/JG 52 flew a 109 for most , if not all of the War ending with a ME-109K.

i think the F is the best, at least in IL-2. G is too heavy.

The G1-G4 without the bigger machineguns on top (MG131) where superior to the F´s in most aspects. The DB605 engine had around 150PS more than the DB601 in the F´s.
In IL2/FB the G2 is much superior against the earlier F4 and later G6 modell in performance and agility; i dont know if the differences between these modells where so great as displayed in Il2/FB but on the other hand the game showed 12 or more 109´modells with different loadout´s and FM.
the later G´s with MW50 (G6/AS,G10,G14,K4) are also good modelled; imho.
K4 with better aerodynamics and some other improvements is the best climber when using MW50 and very fast in 5-7500m.

Yes i´d like to see a 109G2 made by shockwave for FS2004 and a type with additional MW50 included evtl G10 or K4javascript:emoticon(':)')
Smile. But when i see the shockwave Mustang cockpit (Pilot sitting to high and fabuoluos forward view) compared with the bad modelled while to big 190´s cockpitpanel and the Mustang FM with equal or better rollrate than 190´s I have little hope for satisfaction with shockwave 109´s. So I prefer IL2/FB !

PS: Hartmann´s last 109 was a G14 :)

about the FW cockpit,
thats the reason i did not buy the FW 190 yet .
the cockpit seems too broadly (at least in the screenshot i have seen)in comparison with the real one.
was in the flugwerkfactory, not too far from munich, some years ago.

note:
but to be fair, i can speak just for the screenies i have seen , don´t know how it looks in the game.

best regards Boandl

too bad, because i need a nice 190 for the kanaljägermovie, part 5

on this great side you can see a video inside a FW190 cockpit ....

Boandl:
there is a Shockwave FW190 video where you can see the cockpit inside in the game....same as in pictures.
