Modern panel?

Post by CWD »

Has anyone tried modifying the P-51 2D and VC panel to reflect a more modern cockpit like that of a currently flying restored Mustang? The repaints I've done and am currently working on mostly depict restored P-51s, and I'd like to do long-distance flying without having to use default instruments and avionics on 2D pop-ups for navigation. On the other hand, I have next to know experience modifying panels (limited to swapping a gauge or radio here and there), and there doesn't look to be much room for tweaking on the Mustang panel - it looks like a complete rearrangement would be necessary.

Hiya,

Done now some small mod's to my "own privat" P-51D 8)

Panel and VC leave indeed not much room to fool around :? the mod i've done are:

- Bendix VOR1 receiver (right lower corner)
- Bendix dual VOR2/ADF receiver (left upper corner)
- Bendix Heading indicator
- OBS/course selector
- New set of radio's and autopilot

Only to 2D panel
- Flap indicator
- Gear indicator

Screenshots 2D (incl active radio-panel) & 3D panel
