P3D V4 Academic to V5 Professional

Post by John Khan »

As above I updated from V4 Academic o V5 Professional, I had the Bonanza Constellation and T6 Texan Academic in v4 and everything was fine.

I did ask about the Academic to Professional. I was told it would update itself to install into V5 so I installed it.

It will not load and crashes the sim. I have tried it a few times with the same result. I haven't installed the Constellation and T6 yet. Will I have this problem with those and do I have to update these somehow?

Thanks.

Hi John,

Are you trying to install the aircraft into P3Dv5 with the original installer you downloaded for P3Dv4? If so, that'll be the reason for the problem. The solution is to simply download the P3Dv5 version of the installer for each aircraft from your account on the store.

Thanks,

Thanks Nick.

I will do that for all of them. I was told that they would update themselves when I installed them from the V4 installers.

Ah, not sure where you heard that but no, the installer doesn't transfer/update the aircraft from one version of P3D to the next.

OK, T6, L049, and Bonanza for V5. all re-downloaded, thanks.

Just to make sure, even though these were for V4 Academic and I now have V5 Professional, they will go on all right?
I will pay extra if necessary.
