Hi, I wonder if someone could help. I am running the Bonanza in P3v5. The nosewheel turns and the plane turns to the right or left like I want. However, the nosewheel stays straight and does not turn in the direction I want to go. Any ideas?
Thanks
Bernd

Hi Bernd,
When you say:
If so, please can you let us know how you're controlling the rudder in P3Dv5?
Thanks,
Nick
When you say:
Do you mean that the Bonanza is steerable on the ground using rudder pedals etc., but you can't see the nosewheel turning left or right in the external view?bjablonka8120 wrote: ↑28 May 2020, 02:30 The nosewheel turns and the plane turns to the right or left like I want. Hi Nick, yes I can steer the Bonanza on the ground but I cannot see it turn left or right from the outside view. I am using my honeycomb yoke with autorudder as my rudder.
Thanks
Bernd

Re: Nosewheel Steering
Okay, thanks Bernd. If you don't have a dedicated rudder axis, I suspect this may be a side-effect of the custom animation for the interlinked ruddervators and ailerons in the Bonanza but I'll check.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Nosewheel Steering
Bernd,
That animation on the nose wheel is controlled by the rudder movements so unfortunately when you have auto rudder connected, while the rudder physics work properly the animation will not. This is how the system works, at least at the moment.
Scott.

Re: Nosewheel Steering
Thanks Scott, so the best thing I can do is to get some rudder pedals?

Re: Nosewheel Steering
Just to let you know that I got it fixed. I unchecked autorudder and connected a second joystick (x52) which I am using as throttle and for nosewheel steering. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Nosewheel Steering
Thanks for the update Bernd.
You may still wish to consider some rudder pedals in the long term, as they tend to make things like crosswind approaches easier, and they also help when counteracting thing like the torque of the engine and the slipstream from the propeller which pushes the nose to the left during take-off.
However, the ruddervators and ailerons in the Bonanza are interlinked by bungee cords, so in real life the aircraft has a form of 'auto-rudder' designed to reduce the need for pilot rudder input in flight.
Cheers,
Nick
