Panels.dll crash with P3D V5
Re: Panels.dll crash with P3D V5
I think windshield.dll is really causing CTD issues. If I "disable" it, i don't have any issues.
Re: Panels.dll crash with P3D V5
I'm a little hesitant to claim that my experience with CTD in v5 was because of the same issue, but I decided to try to put ".bak" (effectively removing) on the windshield file and I subsequently flew 3-4 hours of heavy flying in weather and in downtown LA with no problems.
I might have been lucky, or other setting might have been changed, so again, not the best science. I'll call it a circumstantial evidence, of weak to medium importance.

Re: Panels.dll crash with P3D V5
Hello all,
We're testing a fix for CTDs related to the Windshield.dll at the moment. It seems to be doing the trick and when we're happy this fix is effective, we'll release updates for existing installations.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Panels.dll crash with P3D V5
Thanks Nick, sorry for being such a PITA, but my experience so far with P3Dv5 hasn’t exactly been a good one. Getting back into this flight swimming lark has been quite hard, and damn expensive so far. And I STILL need a new Yoke

Guys,
Just a quick update: a fix for the Windshield.dll CTDs is now available via the updater for the Bonanza, Cub and J-3. Full update topic here.
Thanks,
Nick

No problems here either. Just flew for 4 ½ hours in Germany, in appalling weather, overcast from about 3000 to 7000, raining like we needed it, and looking awesome.
That’s the first day of flying without a crash in P3Dv5 since I bought it. This plane is my go to plane from now on. So well done on the fix.

Thanks for the reports guys - hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the Windshield rain effects as intended now in v5.

Re: Panels.dll crash with P3D V5
Just to inform that now A2A is working fine for me too.
Now I have CTDs because ASP3D, but of course that's not the fault of A2A.

Also worked fine for me after a 3 hours flight! Previously I could not stay in the flight-deck for more than 15 minutes. Good job!
