Hiya,
Was wondering if any painter was already begun on the N888DB?
The only V35B stationed in the Netherlands at the moment.
If not, like to begin on this repaint (probably do the old and new paint-scheme).
Also does anyone have pictures of the only V-tail on Dutch register? The "PH-NFF", on Dutch register from 1953 to 1957.
Regards,
Marcel

It would be very nice if you picked this one up. I requested N888DB at EDRM repaints, but it doesn't look like Marius will do this paintjob. She's a beauty; she visited EHTE the other day when I was at work at the tower and I had a chance to give her a good look. I would love this paintjob in the sim
Cheers, Bert

Hey Marcel, I haven't seen that one until just now. Both schemes look good and the interior looks nice too. Feel free to do your magic with this one. I look forward to it.

Hiya,
Does anyone have a shot of the underside/belly. Bit puzzled how the red is running between the Cowling-flaps and the landinggear-doors.
Yes i've started

Hi Marcel
Maybe this here helps. It seems to be cut just after the gear bay.
More pictures from the restauration where you can also see the beautiful metallic base paint.
(Aaaaaaaaand the confirmation that the resemblance of the Carenado V35 isn't accidental ):

Hi,
Still investigating how to get the silver-metalic paint look.
Marcel
Seems indeed the best estimate, made it now like this:Flieger-Marius wrote:Hi Marcel

Yes, that looks correct.
For the shine:
Try a light specular map with dark alpha.
The light color needs to match the color of the shine and the alpha controls the angle it which the metallic effect can be seen, the darker, the more shine.
For the metallic effect you can even add fully desaturated, high coverage noise with very low intensity.
Once the base is done you can overlay the shape of the red paint layer to return to a normal spec_map appearance on those areas.
Here is an example (even though you'll want to make it more extreme for N888DB):

Externally the repaint is finished, still tweaking the silver look:
Next (big) job is the repaint of the inside.

Hoi Jan-Kees,
Funny thing is the plane is still flying as the "D-EVGS"

Marcel
At least something to go on, maybe a partly fantasy Dutch livery. (How did you find it on Flickr, which search term did you use?)jcblom wrote:That looks very nice indeed!!
