Beacon

Post by ianfisher 101 »

All

Since updateing to 5.3 I have a beacon display issue under the aircraft. I assume LM have done something to break it.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the heads-up - looks like you're right. Investigating this now.

Just a little update on this one. We'll be releasing a fix for this issue soon, but if anyone would like to get their hands on the update right now, simply download this modified fx_wos_l049_beacon.fx file and place it in your A2A "effects" folder, overwriting the existing copy. By default, this folder can be found here: "Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\A2A\Effects".

Thanks,
Nick

Thank you, Nick! It works! It might be just a tad wimpy, but it doesn't have that ugly red rectangle anymore! My Connie had that ugly rectangle beacon yesterday, and I modified the file per your instructions, and all is good.

Thank you Nick for the great Beacon lighting fix for the P3Dv5.3. I did a test and it works also for P3Dv4.5 even it doesn't need to replace it but v5.3
I appreciate that.

The modified fx effects file worked for Beacon lights. Not for the landing lights. How to fix that?

Maybe it is possible to update beacon effect, make custom one, similar to rotating P51, instead default and ugly one
