Is the FE handling Anti Ice?

Post by Bazonka »

Hello!
I was wondering if the FE is doing anything against wing icing and/or carb icing?

I ask because I can remember there was a problem that he says things like "sheltered air" but never touches any controls.

It was said to be fixed, but was it fixed in the end?
Thank you!

Hi,

Yes this does appear to be a bug. I'll need to look into this and report back.

Curious here as well. My biggest conundrum is, do the wing deicers and prop deicers have an effect in P3Dv4? I believe they do as I have used them under severe icing conditions when I was loosing IAS and plane was getting very sluggish and it did have an effect, I think. These conditions are very rare for me so it's hard to verify results. I know that the FE used to say sheltered air but it seems he handled the issue for carb ice. I have kicked the FE to the back of plane over the past several years so I cannot speak about what he accomplishes with the updates sense then.

So, is the connie getting any updates in the future or is she now left alone in terms of development?
