Strange Engine Behavior

Post by skir4d »

Way back in prehistory, a previous computer and previous flight sim (FSX) I had the dickens of the time getting the flight engineer to handle the mixtures correctly. The primary indication was the engines cutting in and out at idle, much like the mixtures went to cutoff and back to rich, or the mags switched off and back on. However, there was no visible changes in the cockpit.

I finally found the fix and flew the Connie quite a bit.

Move the time forward to now, and P3D4 and a new install of the Connie. Same problem occurs... but it had been so long I couldn't remember the fix. Trouble shooting deja vu.

Answer... page 81 in the manual... auto mixture off.

I hate getting old.
