nearing 350 flight hours on the COTS module

Post by R-2800-59 »

Dear community,

as I am still refusing to make the change towards MSFS due to the lack of Accusim in it, I am currently flying the old thrustworthy Connie again!

Due to some problems concerning Active Sky adjustment I had to restart my career after around 250 hours which did hurt a bit.

I haven't had any problems with my engines yet, they are at 335 to 340 hours, all four in perfect condition at equal oil burn, using the power settings in the manual except:

34-35 inches @ 2400 rpm for faster climbing at low blowers

15 inches @ 1500 rpm for faster descents

I am very conservative with take off power, 42 inches mostly does the job for me. At 1000ft above ground I go back to a power setting below METO, something like 36in@2400 to stabilize climb and slowly go into climb setting.

This module is my favorite sim experience so far. I wish it would come to MSFS one day.
