Common Routes for the Constellation?
Common Routes for the Constellation?
I love the airplane but I'm not sure where to fly it. I'm one of those people that have a hard time deciding where to fly. I was hoping anyone here have routes they would recommend or suggest? I would also like to know what the more common routes were for the Constellation back in the day. I mainly like to fly in the U.S. but I'm interested in routes anywhere in the world. Anyone have suggestions?

If you like some reading the learning history then little nuggets like this will get the mind flowing and give you more than enough inspiration for the BOAC liveries stuff

Then there is the Qantas Kangaroo Route
Each leg was about 8 hours and then stop the night on the ground enjoying the local food and accommodation.

That is so great! thank you again! I don't know how you find this stuff, my Googling powers are not very good. I did a few searches and found nothing helpful.Lewis - A2A wrote: ↑27 May 2022, 07:45 And for the US stuff, I found this little nugget, you can zoom in and out on the image to see the routes in mainland US

Here is a 1949 KLM World route map:

The real “eye-opener” for me was that dashed route which runs down the Eastern coast of Africa, jumps across to Mauritius and then continues on to Jakarta!

Thank you so much for sharing. Lots of interesting routes there that I will definitely try. They really flew all over the world, amazing. Thank you all for sharing these great routes. These will all keep me busy for a long time.Jacques wrote: ↑27 May 2022, 10:55 Here is a 1949 KLM World route map:

We flew across the North Atlantic in a multiplayer flight a little while back: viewtopic.php?f=79&t=71216&p=541730&hil ... e#p541730..
I recall that it involved getting up pretty early and it was a lot of fun.
Maybe something like that could be done again.

Re: Common Routes for the Constellation?
I personally pull relevant flight schedules from http://timetableimages.com/
it will take a little bit of effort to find the correct airlines, years, and flights as it is not exclusive to just the model 049 Constellation, but there are a large number of real life flights you can find. Almost all of the relevant timetables will list the equipment used so you can make sure it's right for the Connie.
