Repo to Australia - kangaroo Route

Post by ianfisher 101 »

In preperation for next Sundays A2A MP Flight from Sydney to Melbourne my Connie needs to be repositioned, so starting at 0900 tomorrow morning I'm going to be flying the 12,000 miles over Four days from London to Sydney. The route will be the post war Kangaroo route.
Day One. London to Beirut with a stop at Zurich.
Day Two. Beirut to Calcutta with a stop in Karachi.
Day Three. Calcutta to Jakarta with a stop in Singapore.
Day Four. Jakarta to Sydney with a stop in Darwin.
I will be on Vatsim flying Speedbird 704 which was the original call sign for this flight. Anyone want to fly along for some of the route then you'd be more than welcome. It's acusim don't forget so we may have medical or other issues to deal on the way along with weather issues so diversions or delays could be a possibility.
Betty has just topped up the galley with supplies and we should be all set to go in the morning.
Wish me luck.

Hey Gunga Din, you are a crazy man.

Wonder when they're gonna give us folding wing tips on the Connie?

All seriousness aside, I hope you take notes and post some progress updates on your flight. Very cool, man. Here's a virtual case of Famous Grouse scotch to take on your flight.

Thanks to those who’ve flow some of the way with me. Very early days, just into the Balkans now after crossing the Alps. Should be in Beirut in four hours forty mins. Do another leg tonight, I’ll see how I feel when I get down.
Thanks for the scotch Alan, I’ll leave the first bottle it till a little later.

I’m posting a small travel log as we continue south. It’s on the A2A Forum pics and video page.
