New to the Connie. Loving it, but what happened here?

Post by Eslader »

I was flying in cruise. My throttle controller is old and twitchy, so I friction-lock the throttles in any aircraft that allows it just to keep the throttles from dancing around. Had them locked, cruising at around 2200RPM/30MP when suddenly the #1 throttle went to idle. The other 3 stayed where they were.

Nothing changed in the running of the engine itself, so it seems to have just been a visual thing with the throttle handle. As soon as I flipped the friction lock off my hardware throttle twitched and #1 handle went back where it belonged. I locked them again, and a few minutes later, the handle went to idle again. As before, the engine kept running as though the throttle was set like the other 3.

Anyone seen this before?

Yeah, I have had the same experience. I think is a bug in the animation.
When I moved the friction control back, the throttle lever # 1 engine, moved back to its original position. When the throttle lever moved to idle, I did not hear any comments from the engineer, or a different rpm spinning prop, or a different noise.
I have repeated it a few times and it was still happening.
