Connie in Vegas

Post by WB_FlashOver »

Watching reruns of the show Vegas with Dennis Quaid from 2012 and I see a 4 second clip of a Connie taxiing. Would this be a recolor of an old clip? Also, I don't know the variants enough to say which one this is.

The name "Clipper Undaunted" makes it an L-049 Constellation - the only PAA Connie to carry that name (which was also used on several other types).

Complete list of Pan Am Clipper names here.

There's a very nice repaint of Clipper Undaunted by our own community member Ebo here.

Unfortunately I don't know the origins of the clip - maybe somebody else will chime in.

EDIT: Found this (a later frame from the same sequence) with some help from Google and Pinterest. There's no caption information, but the URL gives the location as Mexico City.
