umm, that's not quite right, as to how Eastern painted their planes. I'm not aware of them combining the stripe and bird harold with a white top; as far as I know, they were always bare metal. Also, I'm pretty sure the blue should be much darker, a deep dark blue, not medium blue. The red and the bird should be darker too.

Never mind, turns out Eastern painted them in both schemes. Should have done more research before posting. (Figured it out a day ago, but didn't get around to posting an apology until today. Sorry.) I'm rather partial to the other one, though. Still think, based on the pictures posted, that the blues and reds need to be darker than in yor 'work in progress' screenshot. Still, shouldn't be much work to make the bare metal scheme from what you've got, since all that would need to change would be the white top and changing/darkening the colors.

I have been researching colors for C&S DC-3's. Prewar they had one color scheme. Post war, between 1946 and 1955 they had three different color schemes. At one time I researched Southern Pacific railroad color schemes. In the early part of the last century they had repair and maintenance shops all over the western United States. Every shop mixed their own colors and and had wide latitude in painting. Later they got more organized and supplied paint color chips and detailed instructions to all the shops. Over the years the head office changed painting schemes a lot, somewhat based on regional marketing and regional needs. I suspect the same sort of thing applies to airlines. Eastern Airlines has always been one of my favorite skins.
Ryzen 7 5800X3D liquid cooled, OC to 4.5 ghz, Radeon XFX 6900XT Black edition, 2 tb M2 drive, 32 gb ddr4 ram, Asus Hero Crosshair VIII mother board, and some other stuff I forget exactly what.

Dear Marcel,

For many years I have been the grateful recipient of your artistic and technical contribution to our enjoyment of flight simulation.

I find the critical comments of some of those who benefit from your work at no charge or cost to themselves astonishing in their lack of gratitude for your work and respect for your experience and knowledge on flight simulation.

In my opinion your work is among the best available.

Kindest regards,

David Gough.

Hmmm, sorry but where did You find this critical comments? Did You check BraselC5048's comment carefully?
It wasn't his skin, did You notice it?
btw. I suppose You talk about different subject too. The constructive criticism is always WELCOME for many authors for clarifications and be a better.
