Post by THibben »

I just purchased the T-6 for Prepar3d V4 but can't install it.

Could use some help. My prepar3D is installed in my C drive /Program files (x86)/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3dv4

Thanks,

Hello Tom,

Sorry to hear you're having some installation issues. Please can you give us a bit more information about what happens when you try to install. For example, do you see an error message from the installer?

Also, please can you let us know which version of Windows you're using, and if you have any antivirus software which is active.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,

I am using Win 7. I am tying to install the PFC Accu-sim T6 P3dv4. I do have Malwarebytes installed. I have a very high end system.
When I try to install it comes up with an error code. I installed P3DV4 on April 20, 2019

Nick,

I tried to install the file you sent but it still came up with an error and didn't install.

Okay, thanks Tom.

In that case, please can you let us know exactly what message or error code the installer is showing you.

Nick,

I have Prepar3D installed on my C drive in Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4. I can open it up and run it with no problem.

The problem is every time I install the T-6 I get the following message. T6 can't be installed because a valid installation of Prepar3dv4 has not been found on your computer.

It doesn't make sense. Should I just reinstall it again on C\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4?

Thanks for your help.

Tom

Thanks Tom - it usually makes it quicker to troubleshoot issues if you can specify the error message that you're seeing.

That message indicates that the Prepar3D.exe can't be located in the location specified in the Windows registry.

If you've manually moved or renamed any of the P3Dv4 folders since installation, that would be one explanation for this.

Alternatively, it could be due to registry edits cause by a third-party program. In this case, I suggest you try a 'repair' of your P3D installation via the Windows add/remove programs screen.

Cheers,
Nick

Nick,

I am not getting anywhere so am giving up. I might just delete Prepar3D and start over.

Tom,

If the installation path you specify above is correct, something seems a bit odd. Prepar3D v4 is a 64-bit application, so by default it should install to "C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4", not in the "Program Files (x86) directory" which is reserved for 32-bit applications.

Did you edit the installation directory or manually relocate the files after installation?

Thanks,
Nick

Nick,

Problem solved. I moved the Prepar3D V4.4 from the C Program Files (x86) to the C Program Files. All is solved and working fine.
