Radios

Post by pmesmer »

Still having a problem with the radios. The radios work but when I dial in a vor or ILS frequency the needles on the OBS do not respond. I can dial in a VOR frequency and turn the OBS completely around but the needle does not move. If I dial in an ILS frequency, neither the vertical or horizontal needles move. Everything is turned on.

Is the source switch for the VOR set to GPS or to NAV? I think the switch is located somewhere around the GPS but I'm not sure. I can't check right now. But if you want the NAV1 frequency to be displayed you need to set the switch to NAV.

Thanks for the help. The T-6 is one of my favorite airplanes. Years ago when I was flying my T-6-D, I would stand next to it and wonder why I should be so lucky as to be able to have one. However, when I stood next to the F-4-U Corsair that I flew, I would look at it in absolute awe. It had an appearance of brute power. It certainly had it! No other airplane ever gave me that feeling. I loved my T-6 but the Corsair was awesome. The P-51 was always my favorite airplane but the Corsair was and still is a very close second. Thanks again for all the help. I envy all you guys that can still fly in real life. :wink

You did fly T-6s, Corsair's and P-51's in real life!? Wow that is awesome. I would love to try one of those beauties. The most classic I have come is a 1954 Piper Super Cub formerly owned by the German Airforce which I love dearly

Edit: fixed typo

I indeed understand your love for the Super Cub. I learned to fly in the J-3 and later instructed in the Super Cub. I envy you flying that bird. Great airplane!!

It is indeed a great airplane. It's funny how simple can be so satisfying.
