T-6 Texan not working Prepar3D V3.3 Academic

Post by Wolfy777 »

Bought the t-6 Texan and cannot get any controls to work!
I am using Prepar3D V3.3 and my old Microsoft Force Feedback 2. I have installed the aircraft, Simconnect for V3.3, FSUIPC, and the control surfaces do not respond at all. I uninstalled and re-installed the aircraft with no change. I cannot start the aircraft, or do anything with it. Other add-ons for Prepar3D V3.3 work just fine. I am out of ideas after reading this forum, there seems to be no answer here.
Any help/advice appreciated!
Regards, Wolfgang

Hello Wolfgang welcome to the forums,

lets get troubleshooting for you. So first thing to do is to get rid of FSUIPC or any control addons you might be using. Take them out of the equation and get back to p3d and the t-6. If that works then we will know the issue lays in the add-ons. Add them back in one by one to see at which point things stop working and then we will have an exact point of whats causing the issue.

I have a feeling in this case maybe you disable the inputs in P3D and only go through FSUIPC? This would cause the kind of issue you are seeing as according to the sim, there is no input being made.

thanks

Hello Lewis, thank you for answering!

Actually, I installed Simconnect and FSUIPC to try to solve the problem. Initially, I had only the Texan and Prepar3D. I decided to try Simconnect and FSUIPC as a result of reading these forums. The problem was there from the beginning, and nothing changed with the later addition of Simconnect and FSUIPC.
Interestingly, if I position the aircraft at altitude and speed using slew mode, the aircraft responds to control inputs, but without animations. And that only with the engine off, as I cannot start it.

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Hello Lewis,

this one, from your FAQ page

\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib
And yes, I did restart the system after install.

Cheers Wolfgang

Can you get your system back to default without FSUIPC to get that out of the troubleshooting. Are you controllers all active in P3D?

Is the maintenance hanger all ok and working?

Have you run the latest Accu-sim updater?

thanks,
Lewis
