Adding paints to the aircraft.cfg

Post by rvc72 »

I don't know what is happening but I keep trying to add a paint to the T6 and keep getting the message I do not have permission to add it. I have done it before with the T6 but for some reason I cannot do it now. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Have you given yourself full administrative rights on your computer? .What flightsim platform are you using (FSX, FSX:SE or P3D) and what OS are you using on your computer? How are you trying to add the paint?

Hello,

sounds like you don't have permission to edit files inside your FSX folder. You'll want to use folder permissions to give yourself full edit rights in the FSX folder and make sure you tick all sub folders so the change filters down to everything inside the FSX folder.

thanks,

I am using FSX,Windows 8.1 I am going to the aircraft.cfg, right click on security, highlight Administrator, click advance, click edit and all boxes are checked except Special Permissions, that is grayed out. I don't know how to get Special Permissions not grayed. What am I doing wrong?

The windows version might change this slightly but not too much. You need to do with for the FSX folder not the cfg file but the main FSX folder and then make sure the box to have the permissions filters down is ticked so it'll affect all files and folders in the main FSX folder.
