When you have two control surface inputs(yoke and joystick) and four throttles (TPM, Warthog, CH throttle and Saitek TQ) you need (I need) a different profile for each type of aircraft. Before I came to grips with FSUIPC I would find myself wondering why a throttle would shut down (open on a different bit of kit) or the plane wouldn't steer (yoke on the floor was tilted) Now I'm in charge of what's active.
I'm not saying it's wrong to fly an aircraft that has a yoke with a joystick etc. etc. but I try to match what I'm flying with the 'hands on' bits.
