possible parking brake bug?

Post by Captain744 »

I have the seitek combat pedals and am having problems activating the parking brake with the mouse. when I'm clicking or pull the parking brake with the mouse the lever is not pushing the pedals on screen forward and locking the brake lever? Strange thing is that if I use one of the buttons that iv assigned for the parking brake on my thrustmaster warthog, the parking brake stays in? Iv already checked null zones re calibrated ect so don't think it can be the pedals? besides I have no issues with the comache or Cherokee....
Latest update also applied.

I can confirm this, win10 and P3D v3.2 , all updates. When I pull the red lever it moves aft and when I relese it springs back , no pedal movement. If I set the brakes with a sw, the brakes set OK but wont release with the red lever .(they do if I press the pedals controller)

For me, I press and hold brake pedals down then pull red handle out, then release pedals and release handle. Works every time.

I do the same and it works just fine. Also for the civilian P-51 btw. I don't know why A2A has modeled the warbirds different from the GA in the aspect!?

Thanks for the report, we will take a look to try to find out whats happening.

Can you please 100% confirm if you are using stick fsx mapping or fsuipc and which hardware exactly for the brake action?

thanks,

I have the seitek combat rudder pedals with the thrustmaster hotas warthog throttle and stick. All I did was map one of the throttle buttons for parking brake with p3d 3.2 using the sims standard button mapping.
Many thanks for looking into this Lewis.

Crank up your sensitivity in FSX/P3D for the pedals and let us know how you get on.

pedals are already on full sensitivity of 127 and null zones increased to 22. Made no difference I'm afraid.
just to recap on whats happening.
I push the brakes in with the pedals, then pull the parking brake with the mouse. The parking brake rod stays out, but as soon as I let go of the brake pedals the parking brake pushes back in.

Hello,

what about moving the null zone to 0 and 100% sensitivity?

thanks

127 is the value that equates to 100% I believe.

I can however confirm that depressing the pedals fully then pulling the red parking brake lever with the mouse and then releasing the pedal pressure BEFORE you let go of the red parking brake lever with the mouse will set the parking brake every time, no mistake.

This is the way that these aircraft types work...

with these pedals that simply does not work.
the null zone for the brakes seems to be only setting the null zone at the end of the brake press not before. I think THAT is the issue. Iv also discovered that if I DONT tick the invert box for the brakes then the brakes are pushed in when at a standstill????? is this normal with rudder pedals??? Consequently the null is also inverted because of it.
So I guess I need to find out why the brake action is inverted to begin with? (brakes pushing down without be pushing on the brakes) until I tick the invert box for both brakes. Does anyone have to do is?

That's exactly why the invert check box is there. Depending on the rudder pedals you use, you need to tell the sim your axes' values are the reverse of what it expects, so that you get the intended behavior. I have CH rudder pedals and they must be inverted to work properly.
