Nothing seems to work!

Post by captjames747 »

Good evening guys,

I have just purchased and installed the Texan, however NOTHING on the aircraft works!! When I go to the "Hanger", everything is broken and in red, and cannot be repaired.

Check the Troubleshooting FAQ at the top of the page, and look for
"P3D - Installed but nothing works and all is broken!"

Hello,

it sounds like either;

-You have not correctly updated your FSX to the latest version (Please see manual for reuqirements)

-Your FSX SP2/Accel install is corrupt

-Your FSX:Steam edition install isnt correctly updated and or slightly corrupt.

The solution to all the above in this particular case is a simple simconnect reinstall.

thanks,
Lewis

Thanks for replying. For those who aren't savvy, what's Simconnect and how can I reinstall it?

Hi.
Simconnect is used for things like flying online /ASN weather engine , and everytime ASN comes out with an update , they always seem to modify it.

Hello,

you can grab the needed simconnect here;
http://a2asimulations.com/public/downlo ... onnect.msi

But please remember your FSX will need to be updated to the latest version, if using disc edition this can be down using the two service packs from Microsoft.

Okay this is where the plot thickens. I have done all of the above and nothing works still. Also this is now happening to my B-17 and Spitfire. I must also mention this is after installing the Core update!

Doe this change things? Can I change anything?

UPDATE***

I've had to execute a System restore which has sorted the B-17 issue but the Spitfire and T-6 are still unusable.

Okie dokie, the issue you have is common normally due to a corrupt FSX install in that the simconnect is broken. I am guessing your FSX was corrupt and the installation of the latest core update was the straw that broke the back so to speak. By running the system restore you might have somewhat fixed that issue but I am certain that without a restall of the Spitfire its Accu-sim pack and the T-6 + the latest updater you wont be up and running.

Worst case scenerio would be an FSX reinstall, which is normally in an error such as you describe only a rare event but worth noting that sometimes it can be required due to FSX's ability to corrupt itself beyond reasonable repair.
